After what seems like an eternity, the highly anticipated 'Sons of Anarchy' spin-off Mayans MC is reborn. Fans of the series had been left in limbo, as the show faced a complete overhaul last year with a re-shooting of the pilot and replacement of multiple cast members. Despite all of this, FX is now ready to unveil its first look at the upcoming series.
The forty-second teaser wets the apetite, but does not satiate our curiousity for what's to come. The motorcycle gang known as the Mayans ride through a field of roses, and as the group passes the roses wilt and fade to black all to the re-imagined tune of the Rolling Stones’ “Paint it Black” in a sultry Spanish Rock. No plot is shown in the trailer, but we can still speculate that the series is set in parallel timeline to the original series giving us a more full picture of what was going on in seasons and scenes that featured the motorcycle gang during the series of SOA.
The spin-off will not be helmed by Kurt Sutter, but instead will be led by Cuban showrunner Norberto Barba. Alongside Olmos and Pardo, the new series will include Sons of Anarchy alum Emilio Rivera, Clayton Cardenas, and Richard Cabral.
Mayans MC will be a ten-episode series debuting sometime this Fall.
