"Freddy Fender: Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Baldemar Huerta"
This museum exhibit curated by Veronique Medrano & Aleida Garcia, features exclusive memorabilia, photographs, and artifacts from Fender's personal life and career. The first ever to be sanctioned by his estate, this exhibit runs till November 9th.
Veronique Medrano is a TexMex Country and Tejano Solo Artist, described by KSAT 12’s Good Morning San Antonio as “A TexMex artist with a voice as big as the Lone Star State.” A South Texas native, the bilingual singer-songwriter ‘s one-of-a-kind sound celebrates Mexican and American duality.
She effortlessly showcases her talent to innovate the TexMex sound, with four studio albums: MexiAmericana, Lotería, Mi Año Dorado, and Encantadora, and two EPs — 2020’s La Novela and Crying (2021), an homage to Roy Orbison.

Veronique has appeared and been featured on Latino USA, Univision, Telemundo, Remezcla, Latina Magazine, Texas Monthly, Texas Standard and more for her unique path to stardom. Blending her education and music she is one of the leading women in fighting for and preserving the impact of Mexican/Latinos in Country Music in the U.S. She has been nominated 6x for a Tejano Music Award, and has a Master’s Degree from UNT for Archives and Preservation. Medrano’s upcoming album is set to release in May 2023.
